'Sold the country' Australia's former politician!

A former politician has 'sold' the whole of Australia to a foreign intelligence unit, the country's intelligence agency has learned.

The local media of the country published this news on Thursday.

Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) chief Mike Burgess said on Wednesday foreign spies had targeted Australians, including a former politician, who sold out to Australia. News from SBS News.

SBS News quoted Burgess as saying that the politician sold out his country, party and his former colleagues for the sake of foreign rulers.

The incident has sparked a political row in the country, with politicians now calling on Burgess to reveal the name of the politician working for foreign intelligence.

Opposition leader Peter Dutton called for the traitorous former politician, recruited by foreign spies, to be hanged.

Home Affairs Minister Claire O'Neill said foreign governments were trying to infiltrate the top of Australian politics.

Every politician in the country needs to understand that the work they do and the information they have is incredibly valuable to foreign governments, the minister told ABC News. They will try to use friendships, networks and technology to get that information.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's son has revealed that a Chinese agent approached him in 2017 to invest in an infrastructure project.
