Let Muslims pray at Al-Aqsa during Ramadan: US
The holy month of Ramadan is approaching amid the ongoing Gaza-Israel or Hamas-Israel crisis. In this situation, the United States has called on the friendly 'state' of Israel to allow Muslims to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller made the call on Wednesday. However, last week Israel's right-wing minister Ben-Gavir proposed barring Palestinians from the occupied West Bank from praying at al-Aqsa. He said that Palestinian Muslims of the West Bank should not be allowed to enter Jerusalem to pray during fasting.
The news agency AFP reported that the United States called for Al-Aqsa prayers to be offered immediately after the hard-line Israeli minister's proposal. According to Matthew Miller, it is related to Al-Aqsa. As before, we call on Israel to allow Muslims to enter Al-Aqsa during the fasting month.
The spokesperson of the US State Department also said that this is not a matter of religious freedom under the human right. Rather, it involves important issues for Israel's security.
The US is pressuring Israel for a cease-fire in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan, except for Al-Aqsa prayers. It is assumed that Israel will stop indiscriminate attacks on Gaza after listening to the US. Apart from that, the hostages held by Hamas will be released at this time.
It should be noted that the Holy Ramadan will start on March 10 or 11. Israel is evaluating the consideration of Muslims in Jerusalem this month.
